We Remember

An extension of my prop location, Dawn’s Peak, in which I created a fuller illustration and story. 3D assets were created in Autodesk Maya and some were kitbashed from Sketchfab. Afterwards, digital paintover was done in Adobe Photoshop.

The Process

From left to right, initial 3D blocking was done to finalize the composition of the piece (with some 3D assets initially obtained from Sketchfab). Asides from that, assigning of material, and rendering of lighting were done in Autodesk Maya.

Final digital paintover was done in Adobe Photoshop. Looking back at it now, I would say that to further improve this, the values needed to be considered more. If the focal point were the two mountains, then the values of its surroundings needed to have less saturation for proper contrast. With how I rendered it, the focus is a bit all over the place.
