A study of Salome Vandereyt’s 3D Model. Recreated using Autodesk Maya and then digitally painted over in Adobe Photoshop.
The Process
Main reference and angle of Salome Vandereyt’s 3D Model.
From left to right, my progression of the 3D Model in Maya with the main reference at the bottom. The left picture shows the ongoing process of modelling the house using shapes and techniques such as boolean and curving polygons. The right picture shows the final model before the paintover, in addition to the base color for each material in ambient lighting.
The final version with the digital paintover using Photoshop (right). While the overall appearance is visible when comparing it to the main reference, more time could have been used to make more detailing for the house, as well as making the forms of its surroundings more concrete such as the rocks, lilypads, and lotuses.
